The diagnostic LED light is flashing 2 times. It tried to light but wouldn’t 3 times before the light flashes twice.. I checked the burners they seem to be clean. I turned off the unit manually and waited a while but it does the same thing over and over.. It wont light.. It sounds like the gas is going and waiting for the unit to ignite. It clicks and flashes properly calling for heat, but you hear some gas going to the ignite but it stops within a few seconds.. Any ideas?
Actually, my furnace has both doors off. I just taped the switch down so I can try and see what is going on and it seems to run fine without the doors.. It is just that the pilot wont light and there are no flames.

i am getting estimates to replace my furnace. one of the guys told me that the Trane xl80 is the same price as the xr90. In other words i could give up the comfort and quiet of a two stage and get better efficiency for the same price.

Clicks about 3-4 times and flame goes out and immediately back on with each click. Happened at first mostly on very windy days. Now occurring with greater frequency. Everything else seems to work just fine. I expect if I don’t get service soon, I’ll lose my heating. Any explanation and suggestion about home remedy would be appreciated.

Power outage in town knocked out power to 7000 homes. The only two things to bite it during the outage (I am guessing from the initial surge when the power went out / came back on) was one of my 22″ monitors and out new Trane furnace is making loud humming noise (like a transformer). Ugh.

—smells like a diesel truck in the basement, monoxide detectors never go off. so i take it the smell is non toxic.
—sounds like a bomb going off in the fire box. they the installers to ld me it is normal.

The furnace in my house died. Looking for the price for top of the line, mid range and cheap furnaces. Possiblity of using a heat pump instead. Home warranty co. is just going to upgrade the 30+ year old Bryant. Want it to last for another 30+ years. Lennox, Brant and Trane are all reputable companies and have great products. I’ve never had to purchase something like this before as this is my first house.
